The best way to learn more about a certain topic, or to catch up on the latest innovations in the industry, is to head to a conference. These events are also great opportunities for networking. You get to talk to other industry players and experts, find out what your competitors are doing and who knows, you might even meet a few potential business partners!

April brought us to two conferences. Arnout was at an e-commerce conference in Singapore, preaching passionately about how conference organizers and delegates can benefit from online marketplaces (like Conference Bay!). Conferences – meetings where people come together to confer about a topic of interest. Sounds simple enough doesn’t it? That is until you realize that there are tons of conferences held everyday with thousands of delegates in attendance!

These events can range from complex scientific discussions on the microbiology of plankton, to regular business ones, and even one on footcare for athletes. They’re not cheap though. A seat at a good conference could set you back by a few thousand dollars! Of course, if you’re one of the few lucky enough to have been sponsored by your company, this wouldn’t mean a thing to you. But still, considering the high price, you might want to make the most out of that conference.
